Waist-length Figure of a Young Woman
Story
The young woman, whose upper body is leaning slightly backwards with her head inclined forwards, is drawn in a sitting pose with just a few strategically placed strokes of the pen. She might have been the model for the Magdalene in the Uffizi drawing (Entombment, 1507). If so, then Raphael changed only the position of the head when he put her into the complete composition.
