Study for Adam
Story
This drawing for the figure of Adam, who sits second from the left in the upper zone of the Disputa, appears to have been drawn from life, perhaps using a studio 'garzone' as the model. In this drawing, Raphael concentrated on the torso and upper legs, leaving a detailed study of the head for another analysis. In the fresco Adam, clutching his right knee, retains the pose from the drawing, although he now appears older and bearded.
